Facilities - luxury self catering cottage near Aviemore

For once there is no need to eat out every night due to cramped kitchen and dining areas, lack of cooking implements or just that "I wish they had a ......." conversations you tend to have on self catering holidays.

We actively ask our guests to tell us what is missing or what they want, need or would just like to see us buy or introduce, and then we ensure we get it ASAP. If you are happy, we are happy.

The large kitchen is extremely well fitted out and has a 4 ring electric hob, electric fan oven, dishwasher, microwave, and a large fridge/freezer. All appliances are brand new and in perfect working order.

There is ample storage space in the kitchen and throughout the house.

As well as the expected good quality cutlery, crokery, cooking pans and bakeware there are unbreakable vacuum flasks and a filter cofee maker for your days out and other kitchen items to make your stay a bit more like being at home.

The utility room houses a washing machine and a tumble dryer and is accessed from the kitchen and also the back door.

The dining area is tastefully decorated. All table linen is provided.

Full Sky movies package is provided with a 32” screen and DVD player are situated in the lounge. Wireless internet is available throughout the house, if you need to keep in touch.

 

Well behaved dogs and pets are more than welcome in our pet friendly house but please try and restrict them to the extensive uncarpeted areas on the ground floor when you get back from your walks in the local area. As outdoor people ourselves who regularly took our dog on holiday, we were always amazed at the fluffy (stained) pink carpets, or generally grotty carpets that awaited us on the inside of the doorways in many cottages! You can rest assured you can take your muddy boots off, and dry the dogs paws, inside which is especially preferable in winter.

The house is perfect for active dogs (and people!) as there is open land direct from the front door. 

 

 

 

Two adult Giant front suspension mountain bikes are available and we have a lockable garage that can store any other outdoor equipment you may bring for your holiday in the highlands.

 

 

Bathroom facilities. We have 1 bathroom, 2 en-suite shower rooms and a downstairs WC. All towels are provided.

 

  

The Sauna at Truim Cottage is a three seater infrared sauna. 

These types of sauna are safer, more relaxing after an active day of cycling or walking around the Cairngorms, have greater health and muscular benefits, don't utilise steam and don't create as much heat as conventional saunas. The sauna is equipped with a built in sound system so take along your favourite CDs!
