Luxury Self Catering Accommodation near Aviemore, Scottish Highlands
We are only two hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow and so much more accessible than many parts of the Scottish Highlands and cairngorms National Park for a short or weekend break. Our luxury self catering accommodation has excellent facilities and you can book online at the click of your mouse. We have WiFi Wireless Internet and a FULL SKY PACKAGE.
We are a pet friendly cottage and well behaved dogs and pets are welcome on the ground floor.
Truim Cottage is and always has been a No Smoking House. Thank you.
You can book your holiday online.
Bunkhouses in the Cairngorm and Strathspey area actually cost about the same as our large luxury holiday home if there are just 6 of you staying and the quality of lodgings cannot be compared. Any more than 6 people at Truim Cottage and our cottage is much cheaper than even a bunk house! Hotels B&Bs and Guest Houses in the Cairngorms National Park will always work out much more expensive than our accommodation even with just 3 or 4 people staying with us in Dalwhinnie. Added to this is the freedom you have with your own house where kids and pets can run free and hopefully you (like us over the years) will decide self catering is the best way to enjoy your Highland Holiday in the Cairngorm National Park.

...we were not disappointed as it was really well kitted out and all the fittings were brand new. It was really convenient for hill walking in the Cairngorm National Park and we also used the bikes to go mountain biking from Dalwhinnie itself. I thought the sauna was a lovely touch and so relaxing after a hectic day exploring. The nearby pub had a good variety of food and real ales and it was useful to have a pub so close to base. We would definitely return again in the future...

...excellent week in Dalwhinnie. The weather was ideal for winter sports in the Cairngorms... the cottage was well equipped and the log fire welcome after a day on the hills.
Margaret Milsom, Neath.
Thank you . We enjoyed the stay at the cottage and we will definitely be coming back for a longer stay.
...really enjoyed the stay here. The house is beautiful. Especially loved the fireplace and the beanbags! Thanks for a great break away.
At last a holiday home that is actually better than was advertised and, if honest, expected. It was great value and had all the extras us outdoor types really appreciate. We WILL be back. Thank you.
Jim Grant, Glasgow.
...thanks so much for a really enjoyable stay, the house is beautiful! Will definitely be back.
Peter, had a great time. House is lovely and very well equipped. Thanks.
Thanks for a wonderful stay in a superb house. As hill walkers it was nice to have the sauna and fire to come back to each night and the house really is dog and pet friendly, well done. We'll be back next year to explore more of the area on your mountain bikes.
Brilliant large holiday house, plenty of space and utilities for a large family or groups. It's nice to have a wood burning stove and also wireless internet all around the house.
The mountain bikes are in good condition and there are plenty of good rides in the area.
Dalwhinnie has a nice central location with the animal and wildlife parks close or an hour from the West Coast which is well worth the drive.
All the best,
Jules and Judy Brooks, Brisbane.
This was our first trip to the Scottish Highlands and we all loved it. The house was spotless, kitchen had more than we needed, and every room was warm and VERY comfortable.
See you next year!

We had a fabulous week here. Cottage Brilliant!
Just to say thank you very much for our stay at Truim Cottage. It has been very relaxing for us both, especially being able to use the sauna.
Sorry we didn't get to meet up with you Peter but we did have a really good time. The sauna was fantastic as we were both suffering from muscular ailments it did us a power of good! Dalwhinnie is a lovely place and we found the advice on the printed A4 sheets very good and followed most of them. The dogs had a good time too with the enclosed garden a massive plus for us. We were surprised at the size of the house and made great use of Sky movies and internet on rainy days.
We had some good interaction with one of the tenant farmers along the back road from Laggan and a great display of him rounding up his sheep with his trusty collie "Jack"
Many thanks for your kind attention
Chris and Michelle
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed New Year in your house at Dalwhinnie. We were all blown away by how big and beautiful the house was and how everything we needed was there for us. We are already thinking of booking next year.
We've had a fantastic week, thanks! Aside from all the walking and cycling we even managed a days skiing. The house has been great!

We are now all converts to the Cairngorms and their variety. Loved sitting in the sauna after a day on your bikes and a stopping for a dram at the distillery.

Loved the space and warmth of the house. A real get-away-from-it-all feel holiday without the need to go very far!

We spent a week here in during our tour of Scotland and LOVED the Cairngorms. On reflection it was the most relaxing week of the holiday and has left us with many fond memories.

We had such a lovely time at Truim Cottage and what a surprise when we arrived - it is a magnificent home - I and my family were so excited not to mention our dogs who took advantage of the rural location and beautiful garden.

Thanks for the information prior to our stay.
We all had a fantastic time in the lovely warm house. Truim Cottage catered for us beautifully. Even the snow didn't stop us walking and exploring. We hope to return next year if possible.
As usual everything was brilliant!.

Another year, another trip to Truim Cottage. We find ourselves smiling on the weeks running up to the holiday and smiling weeks after; a real tonic and it never fails to recharge us.
